When people see news of the significant legal action we have launched, people often want to know: has my data been breached in the Virgin Media incident?
Once they know the answer, people then want to know what they can do about it. As such, this article is designed to be a brief FAQ to answer these key questions for you. We will address: has my data been breached? Can I join the legal action? What do I need to do now?
We will also address how you can get more information about how the No Win, No Fee works as well, and we’ll give you a little insight into who we are as well.
Key question: has my data been breached in the Virgin Media data leak that involved information being exposed between April 2019 and February 2020?
Answer: you should have been informed by Virgin Media if you were one of the 900,000 victims of the data breach. We know that they have sent out notifications by email and by text and may have used other forms of communication also. They are duty-bound in accordance with the GDPR to alert all victims, but some could slip through the net. If you have changed your details and they’re not aware of this, especially for those who are not customers, you may not have heard from them.
Key question: has my data been breached in the leak and, if it has, does this mean that I can now join the legal action spearheaded by Your Lawyers? (that’s us!)
Answer: if you have received confirmation that your information has been exposed in the breach then you should be entitled to join our legal action for compensation. Our primary eligibility criteria for joining is that you are affected.
Whether you had personal details exposed, or more sensitive contract information leaked, you can be eligible to join the case either way.
To join the Virgin Media data breach group action for compensation, you can start your claim today on the main section of the website here.
We’re representing clients for cases on a No Win, No Fee basis, which you can read more about here.
There’s still time to start your claim, but please be aware that we have already launched our action for justice.
