We are pursuing compensation cases for victims of the Virgin Media data leak, and we have been doing so since news of the incident emerged in the press in early 2020.
Eligible victims of this data breach could be entitled to pursue a claim for damages on a No Win, No Fee basis. We are confident that we will be able to settle claims, and victims could be eligible to receive thousands of pounds in damages.
Find out now if you are still in time to claim by completing the forms on the main part of our website here.
Our compensation cases for victims of the Virgin Media data leak that was first identified at the start of 2020 have been ongoing for some time. We are pursuing legal action on the basis that some 900,000 people’s personal information was left exposed online in an unsecured database. We know that, during the 10-month period that the database was accessible, at least one unknown third party accessed the information.
We were contacted quickly after news of the breach hit headlines and we have been representing thousands of clients for cases ever since. The GDPR can entitle victims of a data breach to pursue compensation for any distress that has been caused by the loss of control of their personal information. They could also be entitled to receive damages for any losses and expenses incurred, if these are applicable.
We were previously featured in the media ourselves in respect of the action that we are taking, where we confirmed that our initial early estimations of potential damages could be in the region of around £5,000. Actual claim amounts can depend on several factors and will need to be investigated thoroughly as part of a person’s claim.
You can find out if you are eligible to still start a case by completing the forms here now.
We pursue compensation cases for victims of the Virgin Media data breach on a No Win, No Fee basis if they are eligible to join our action. This means that we can write off our legal fees if the claim does not succeed, subject to the claimants abiding by the terms and conditions of the agreement.
We work this way as part of our commitment to access to justice. We also recognise that many people may not be able to claim if they had to pay for a losing case. We also only pursue claims where we consider there are reasonable prospects of success, so we do risk assess the cases that we take forward, and this is a carefully considered risk.
